Name Elizabeth King
Gender Female
Birth[1] Abt 1781
Marriage 12 Jun 1815 Buckland, Gloucestershire, Englandto Thomas Haines
Burial[1] 7 Aug 1825 Stanway, Gloucestershire, England

Elizabeth King's origins have yet to be established. If the age quoted at her burial is correct then she was born in about 1781. Her first sighting is on 6th June 1815 when she married Thomas Haines, a shopkeeper and butcher, at Buckland in Gloucestershire. Between 1815 and 1825 they had four children baptised at Buckland, all of whom appear to have been born in the hamlet of Laverton. Elizabeth clearly died shortly after giving birth to her fourth child; she was buried on 7th August 1825, whereas he was not baptised until the following month. She was buried at Stanway, a few miles south of Laverton.

Thomas outlived Elizabeth by 13 years and married again just over two years after her death.
