Facts and Events
[edit] Personal HistoryDaniel Kittredg(e), sometimes Jr., only son of Daniel Kittredg and Elizabeth (Foster), was born 12 8mo. [Oct.] 1697, in Billerica, Province of Massachusetts Bay.[1][2] He died 14 April 1781, in Tewksbury (formerly part of Billerica), in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.[3] Daniel Kittredg Jr. and Ruth Shed were married 8 July 1724, in Billerica, by Samuel Ruggles. The town records of Billerica list the births of their children Daniel, Ruth, Samuel, Ruth (second), Nathan, and Mary. After the separation of Tewksbury from Billerica in 1734, the town records of Tewksbury list the births of their children Elisabeth, Mehitabel, Timothy, Ebenezer, and Benjamin. Daniel Kittridge and Sarah Pattin were married 4 December 1755, in Tewksbury. The town records do not record any births of children by them. In his will dated 24 December 1776,[4] Daniel Kittredg (his + mark), of the town of Tewksbury, County of Middlesex, State of Massachusetts Bay in New England, husbandman, “being sick and weak in body”, appointed his son Nathan Kittredge as sole executor and bequeathed to him his lands, buildings, etc. He bequeathed £13-6-8 and apparel to his son Ebenezer Kittredge; and to his daughter Ruth Kittredge during her lifetime, the use of the lower fire room in his dwelling house, and the support of her brother Nathan. The will was filed 2 May 1781, and proved in the Middlesex Co. probate court 14 November 1781. The will was presented for probate by Abigail Kitteridge, widow of the executor, and proved by the oaths of Aaron Beard and Nathaniel Clarke (with Isaac Kitteridge being deceased). Francis Kittredg, physician, was appointed administrator, and he, along with Samuel Ober and Nathll Clark, yeomen, all of Tewksbury, signed a bond in the amount of £10,000. Aaron Beard, Nathanael Clark, and Capt. Joshua Baldwin, all of Tewksbury, were appointed to take an inventory of the estate. The lands and buildings were valued at £200, and the sum total of other items was £48-7-6. References
