Notes

This Daniel Elkins is thought to be a son of Daniel Elkins and Rachel Elkins, as described in the paragraph below:

From Rootsweb Message Board:

He (Daniel Elkins, Sr.) also had a son in the 1820 census who was the right age to have been the Daniel Elkins (Jr.?) who was living next door to William and Rachel McNeely in the above 1850

census. We also believe it's likely that Rachel had another daughter in 1820, after the census was taken, Jemima Elkins, who married Augustus Walls. In other words, we're fairly certain that Dianah and Jemima were Rachel's daughters before she married William McNeely, and the Daniel Elkins who lived next door in 1850 could also have been Rachel's son.
