Wardell, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret. : Peters, Christian - born 10/16/1760 in Rockingham [then Augusta*] County, Virginia, where he entered service in 1780; father born in Germany; soldier moved in 1789 to Monroe County, Virginia, where granted Pension 1832 when resided in Peterstown per Conrad Peters (no kinship given), County Justice of the Peace, John Hutchison, County Court Clerk; soldier's brother John resided then in Giles County, Virginia; County Justice of the Peace James A. Dunlap, Samuel Clark & Henry Alexander made affidavit then in Monroe County, Virginia; John Dunn made affidavit then there that he entered service 1781 in Rockingham County, Virginia, with soldier; soldier's sister mentioned but not named; query letter in file in 1926 from descendant Miss Bertha Lewis Clark, Baltimore, Maryland, formerly of Monroe County, Virginia, who was also a descendant of Virginia Revolutionary War soldier Daniel Clark of latter County; query letter in file says soldier died in Peterstown, West Virginia, brother John also was a Revolutionary War soldier; query letter in file in 1826 from descendant Isabel Symms (Mrs. C.W.) Reeder of Troy, Kansas. F-S5898, R1917.
