Catherine and her husband George took their sons and went to Oklahoma for the gold rush. Silas's sister Julia married Jessie Chisolm, nephew of Jessie of Chisolm Trail fame. There is a town in Oklahoma named Keifer on the trail. George got very sick and felt he had to get back to warm springs around Berkley Springs. He returned and lived for many moe years.
