Funeral services were held today at 2 p.m. at French Corral for Bertha Inez Helmers who passed away Saturday, Sept. 25 at the Nevada County Hospital where she had been a patient for the past two months. The Rev. John MacDonald officiated and interment followed at French Corral.

She was 54 years old and a native of California.

Survivors include her mother, Mattie Baker of Hollister, California; her husband, Theodore W. Helmers of French Corral; three daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Niehoff of Victorville, California, Mrs. Hazel Beard and Karen Beard, both of Sparks, Nevada; and a son, Gary Beard of Sparks, Nevada; two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ernest Laveroni of San Jose; four brothers, Russell Renfrow of Santa Cruz, Milton Renfrow of San Francisco, and Earl and Ernest Renfrow of Hollister, California; also numerous nieces and nephews.
