Long Prairie Leader - Thursday, June 23, 1955 - Pg 4, Col. 1 BRUDER RITES TO BE HELD FRIDAY Death Occurred Here Yesterday Funeral services for August Bruder, Jr., who died yesterday at the Long Prairie hospital as a result of an embolism complicated by diabetes, will be conducted tomorrow (Friday) morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. George Rauch will officiate and interment will be made in the church cemetery. August George Bruder, Jr., son of John and Augusta Bruder, was born July 17, 1892, in Reynolds. He grew to manhood in that community and on Feb. 19, 1917, was here married to Ruth Stephan. Mrs. Bruder died Sept. 3, 1953, as a result of an automobile accident. Mr. Bruder farmed for a number of years in Reynolds but recently had made is home in this village. He had been in ill health for the past nine years. A member of St. Mary's church, he followed farming throughout practically his entire life. Surviving his death are six children as foillows: Mrs. John (Isabelle) Becker, Ambrose Bruder, Emil Bruder and Mrs. Leonard (Bernice) Miller of Long Prairie, Edward Bruder of Browerville and Mrs. Howard (Leona) Bluhm of Rock Falls, Ill. He is also survived by two brothers and a sister, Clem Bruder and John Bruder of Long Prairie and Mrs. Otto Remus of Alberton, Mont. There are 28 grandchildren.
