  Services will be held today, (Wednesday) July 11, 1984, for John R. Becker, 68, of rural Long Prairie, at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Long Prairie, with Fr. Eugene Meemken officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
  Pallbearers will be his grandsons, and funeral arrangements were made by Stephan-Stein Funeral Home, Long Prairie.
  Mr. Becker died Saturday, July 7, 1984 at the Long Prairie Memorial Hospital.
  He was born Sept. 17, 1915, in Hartford Township of Todd County, to Frank E. and Francis (Loegering) Becker. He married Isabelle Bruder June 22, 1937, in Long Prairie. He had lived most of his life in the Long Prairie area, and farmed in Bruce Township. He was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, and former Bruce Township Board Member.
  He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one infant sister.
  Survivors include his wife, Isabelle of Long Prairie; four sons, Jack of Eagle Bend, Gerald of Aitkin, Robert of Swanville and Roger of Long Prairie; four daughters, Mrs. Harry (Julia) Holmquist of Long Prairie, Mrs. Alvin (Elaine) Scherping of Swanville, Mrs. Bill (Lorraine) Derner of Wasilla, Alaska, and Rozann Becker of Hume, MO; two brothers, Clarence and Leo, both of Long Prairie; three sisters, Mrs. Gilbert (Edna) Wettstein of Kooska, Idaho, Emily Miller and Mrs. Richard (Eileen) Hayes, both of Long Prairie; 32 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
