Obituaries

 Mrs. Abigail Mahnesmith, widow of Peter Mahnesmith, of Preble township, died Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Doeble. She was about 75 years of age and died from the effects of a fall.  Last Tuesday she fell and broke her right thigh, and the shock of the accident caused death.  She was widely known and had a number of relatives in the city.  The funeral will be held Monday morning at Williamsport.  Mrs. Mahnesmith is a relative of Mrs. J.C. Sutton. (note: Mrs. Jesse C. Sutton, nee Isabelle 'Garnet' White, grandniece.)

PIONEER WOMAN DIES AS RESULT OF FALL
Mrs. Abie Mahnensmith, Long Resident of Wells County Passes Away.
 This morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Double, of Union township, Wells county, occurred the death of Mrs. Abbie Mahnensmith for nearly half a cenury a resident of that county.  She was aged 84 years and her death was directly the result of a fall she sustained Thursday in which her hip was broken.  The aged woman had not been in good health and the shock of the injury proved too much for her diimished vitality.  Mrs. Mahnensmith with widely known in the southern part of Allen county, where she has a number of relatives as well as in this city.  The funeral will be held Monday at Williamsport.  For many years she lived just over the Allen county line in Wells county.
