He was a farmer in 1850. Neighbors were Charles Strouse and Daniel Burry, and Susanna Mah..smit was living with them. In 1860, 1870 he was a farmer living next to his daughter Aboline and son John.

More research is needed to determine his ancestry. The History of Northeastern Ohio states his father was in the War of 1812 (no record has been found.) The Adams & Wells County Indiana History states his father was born in Germany. That could be Henry, the emigrant, or one of Henry's sons, George or Phillip who possibly were born Germany. Henry, the emigrant, died at age 63 nine months before this George was born. The emigrant's son, George, would have been 39 years old or older when this George was born. It is possible that this George appears on the 1800, 1810 censuses in the household of George(1) (either as brother or son). Little is known about Phillip, the other son who may have been born in Germany.

This George moved his family from Pennsylvania to Ohio in 1829. They were among the first pioneers of the county, and the first location was made near Lordstown. George Rupright was a carpenter by trade and one of the first mechanics in the neighborhood. George Rupright had two sons --John and William; the latter lives on the homestead. John learned the trade of his father.
