Off-line sources

  • Sources that are not available on the web. However, more and more libraries and repositories are posting their holdings in online catalogs. WeRelate can search this reference and descriptive information. This includes information about websites, books, or microfilms. At the present time, WeRelate searches the Family History Library Catalog. We hope to add other catalogs as they become available.

  • The person designated as the starting point for the generational links on a family tree. In the Family Tree Explorer, you can designate anyone in a tree as its "root", organizing the tree around him or her. This is especially useful in the Pedigree view or the Descendants view. This tutorial lesson includes instructions on how to designate your root person

Signature

  • A note added to the bottom of a comment, including a link to the commenter's profile and a timestamp showing the date and time the comment was published.
    • Because WeRelate is all about collaboration, we encourage all users to "sign" their comments, especially on talk pages, making it easier for others to respond.
    • Although you could enter this information manually, it's much easier if you just follow these instructions
      • Use two dashes and four tildes i.e. --~~~~ which will automatically insert your signature
        • The "tilde" symbol is located to the left of the "1" (one) key at the top of the keyboard.
