"Two partial lists of the children of Robert Poage are extant, one in the record of his importation which names nine, the other in his will, dated October 20, 1773 and probated March 6, 1774, which names eight but omits two daughters, Sarah, wife of Thomas Gordon, and Mary, wife of Robert Breckenridge, both of whom predeceased their father; Mary is known to have died young."
