Re-check original records for marriage date. If it was indeed July 1849, then Johanna was three months pregnant with their daughter Johanna Barbara Margrethe at the time they married, unless the daughter's baptism date was misrecorded. Memorial and Familiy History states he was married in 1858 to Hannah Schlotzer, but this is almost 10 years too late. While married at St. Paul / St. Marks, it appears that they baptized only their first child there. (And I need to double-check this.) Could find none of their children baptized there through 1865. In 1850 they are in 4th ward, living with Johanna's brother in a house of many families. References
