The Ralphs brought lot 62 in 1867 in Bejoording.
Edward then went to work for Squire Phillips who shephered the sheep on the Squires property he usually returned home daily, leaving the sheep for the night in the bush fold, guarded by a dog.
Wheat was grown on the property and when it was harvested it was taken by horse and cart to the Flour Mill at Northam. a few days later they would return to the Mill and pick up the bags of flour.
Hay was cut by a manually operated Chaff Cutter for stock feed.
Pigs where kept either to be sold or slaughtered and made into hams, which were hung up in the chimney to be smoked.
A cow was killed now and again and the meat would be shared around with close neighbours as there was no way of keeping it fresh for any length of time
