Welcome to WeRelate, your virtual genealogical community. We're glad you have joined us. At WeRelate you can easily create ancestor web pages, connect with cousins and other genealogists, and find new information. To get started:

WeRelate is different from most family tree websites. By contributing to WeRelate you are helping to create Pando for genealogy, a free, unified family tree that combines the best information from all contributors.

Now that you have uploaded RosemarieJones Kramm Kirkland_2016-08-16_01.ged, your next step is to review what your pages will look like, review any potential warnings, and combine (merge) people in your GEDCOM with matching people already on WeRelate. You need to review your GEDCOM before it can finish importing. We will keep your GEDCOM in the queue for two months to give you time to review it. If your GEDCOM does not contain at least one date and place for each person, preferably with at least one primary or secondary source it will possibly be rejected, See the help pages for how you should prepare your GEDCOM prior to uploading.

Note: if your gedcom contains many errors or multiple families, we’d ask that you resolve and correct the errors, delete this gedcom and re-submit it without the errors before merging it with families already on WeRelate. If the gedcom is very large, we’d suggest breaking it up into separate files (or families) and importing them one at a time, which makes the review and correction process easier.

Hello, and welcome. Your gedcom looks very good. WeRelate is a community database. Although records often disagree and we must guess at dates sometimes, we ask the members of the community to check their data before we upload it into the community database and create wiki pages. Before any gedcom can be added to the database, the system checks for common errors and lists them under the warnings tab. Please click on the warnings tab.

Your Peter Finch was apparently married before he was born. Please delete whichever date you are unsure of and resubmit.

Please check the other items. If the data is your best guess that's alright. But do check it.

Then, resubmit. We will be happy to add your pages.

The pages from your GEDCOM have been generated successfully. You may now:

• launch the Family Tree Explorer to navigate your tree
• view your network -- If you matched families in your GEDCOM to existing families, find out to which other WeRelate users you are related.
• view related pages not in your tree -- If you matched families in your GEDCOM to existing families, find out which people you are now related to that you can add to your tree (takes awhile to display for large trees).
• view a searchable list of the pages in your tree -- The searchable list will be available about an hour after your tree has been imported.

Admin follow up

Hello. I am a volunteer admin and member of our WeRelate:Mentoring committee. I decided to go ahead and import your file above after making some minor formatting changes and finishing the place matching task, since most of your persons had dates and places. I did notice, however, that your file contained no source records for any of your dates or places, other than the Kramm book or other people's trees at Ancestry.com. Our goal here at WeRelate is to provide well-sourced genealogy for the future. There are many free on-line resources available these days which can help you add vital records, census records, land records, etc. to prove the dates and places you have posted. We encourage all users to revisit their pages to add these types of sources. We are here to assist you, if you need help learning how to do this. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have here on your Talk page or on our Support page.
