I'm a novice, but I appreciate the opportunity your site offers me to correct errors to my tree. I had errors that I've completely overlooked for a long time that I've now corrected. I've completed the review of my ged file and the warning level is 0.0%, with no duplicates. No Family Matches are shown, but the summary says there are 11 undecided.

My problem is when I click on the Import tab, the button to import my tree is greyed out. What should I do next--Jaynes931 19:38, 29 November 2012 (EST)

Hi Jaynes931, I happened to see your message here. If you go to GEDCOM review and click on the 7. Family Matches tab, there should be 11 families listed. These are potential duplicates with families that already exist on the site. Click on each one, decide if they are a match or not (click the appropriate button at the bottom of the page), and if they are a match - click the check box next to each data item you would like to include. There will be another button at the bottom of that page to proceed. Then, when all of the family matches are processed, you should be able to send the file to Admin Review.
If you have any further problems/questions, just let me know. --Jennifer (JBS66) 12:14, 30 November 2012 (EST)

Next step: Review your GEDCOM [12 November 2012]

You're not done yet!

WeRelate is different from most family tree websites. By contributing to WeRelate you are helping to create Pando for genealogy, a free, unified family tree that combines the best information from all contributors.

Now that you have uploaded Jaynes Crow McDermott1_2012-11-12.ged, your next step is to review what your pages will look like, review any potential warnings, and combine (merge) people in your GEDCOM with matching people already on WeRelate. You need to review your GEDCOM before it can finish importing. We will keep your GEDCOM in the queue for two weeks to give you time to review it.

Note: if your gedcom contains many errors or multiple families, we’d ask that you resolve and correct the errors, delete this gedcom and re-submit it without the errors before merging it with families already on WeRelate. If the gedcom is very large, we’d suggest breaking it up into separate files (or families) and importing them one at a time, which makes the review and correction process easier.

Click here to review your GEDCOM

Once you have finished your review and marked your GEDCOM Ready to import, one of our administrators will review your GEDCOM and finalize the import. This usually happens within 24 hours. You will receive a message here when the pages have been created.

Joly's [5 September 2015]

I noticed that you have added many Joly relatives of mine. My grandmother was a Joly. Are you related to them? Tammy--Tlg64 21:09, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

Yes, Tammy--Louis Joly and Margritha Schenher Joly were my 3rd Great Grandparents. Their daughter, Elizabeth Marguerite who married Sebastian Schmucker was my great, great grandmother. Are we cousins? --Mary Jean--Jaynes931 01:45, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Elijah Land [4 September 2015]

Hi, Mary Jane.

I got your message regarding Elijah Land. First, I should apologize for getting so carried away. I should have checked with you first before making so many changes to his page.

As for deleting the marriage reference, it's actually quite easy. Just click "Edit" in the top left corner of Eliljah's page. Then scroll down to the source you want to remove, and click "remove". Then click "Save" at the bottom of the page.

If you want to delete a Person page (such as Elizabeth Ellis), again you want the menu on the top left of the page. Click "More", then click "Delete". The computer will ask if you really want to do this, or why you are doing it, or some such, but you just have to click the "delete" button, and the page is deleted. (This will only work for pages you created, and if no one else is watching that page. You can't delete someone else's page, and if someone else is watching the page, you also cannot delete it.)

Deleting a Family page (such as Elijah Land and Elizabeth Ellis works pretty much the same way, except that all the Person pages will remain. If you want to delete one or more of them, it's a good idea to delete them first, then delete the Family page.

Hope this is what you wanted to know. There is also an explanation for deleting pages on the Help:FAQ page.

Gayel --GayelKnott 03:01, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Thanks so much Gayle--I followed your directions and the Kentucky Marriage Source should be history. I appreciate your help with the instructions, but also with Elijah's records. I can use all the help I can get, so you never need to be uncomfortable about correcting anything you see that needs it on my tree. --MJ--Jaynes931 02:00, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Okay. Good luck with your research. Gayel --GayelKnott 04:41, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
