Anne:

Thanks for collaborating with me on [Trond Tynnøl]. It appears that he is a common relative of ours. Perhaps we are related.
I see you have added that Trond was from Lesja. Are you in contact with anyone in the Gudbrandsdals Laget who is doing Lesja genealogy?--Romsaas 01:11, 25 September 2011 (EDT)

Next step: Review your GEDCOM [29 March 2013]

You're not done yet!

WeRelate is different from most family tree websites. By contributing to WeRelate you are helping to create Pando for genealogy, a free, unified family tree that combines the best information from all contributors.

Now that you have uploaded Nikoline Kvammen anc.ged, your next step is to review what your pages will look like, review any potential warnings, and combine (merge) people in your GEDCOM with matching people already on WeRelate. You need to review your GEDCOM before it can finish importing. We will keep your GEDCOM in the queue for two weeks to give you time to review it.

Note: if your gedcom contains many errors or multiple families, we’d ask that you resolve and correct the errors, delete this gedcom and re-submit it without the errors before merging it with families already on WeRelate. If the gedcom is very large, we’d suggest breaking it up into separate files (or families) and importing them one at a time, which makes the review and correction process easier.

Click here to review your GEDCOM

Once you have finished your review and marked your GEDCOM Ready to import, one of our administrators will review your GEDCOM and finalize the import. This usually happens within 24 hours. You will receive a message here when the pages have been created.

Hans Andersen Vestad [1 October 2013]

Although I did not have him in my family tree - I had his brother - so I added the parents and brother.

My grandmother grew up on Sekken Island, just a hop skip and jump from the Vestad farm. She immigrated to the USA in 1900.

I visited there in 2009 - what a beautiful place.

I do not know much about adding records to this site yet - I have added some of my Swedish family. Maybe this winter I will get to the Norsks.

Discussions on Norwegian Data Entry Standards [11 December 2013]

I wanted to let you know that I am inviting others to contribute to the discussion of naming conventions for Norwegian person pages. I have also started a discussion of naming standards for Norwegian place names. I am inviting the same people to participate in that discussion as well.

I hope you will stay involved in the former discussion, and I would appreciate anything you would like to contribute to the discussion on place names. Thanks.--DataAnalyst 01:09, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

Father and mother to Maja Kajsa [23 February 2019]

Hello,

I am not certain what language you speak so I start our communication in English.

Over and over again I studied the Norwegian marriage record for Maria Kajsa and Alfred and birth records of their children. But I was not able find what I where looking for. Another woman with DNA T2h2 came from the Vänersborg and Uddevalla area not far from Tunhem where Alfred Magnusson were born. I followed Alfreds lines backwards and hoped to find Maria Kajsa in Tunhem. But I did not. What I learned was that Alfred left Tunhem for Norway 1871-11-01, his sisters Inga-Lena and Sofia left Tunhem for Norway 1875-11-05 and finally his youngest sister Lovisa left Tunhem for Norway 1884-08-01. I had to give up.

Months later when I was working with other ancestral lines in my family tree I by a coincidence I stumbled over a birth record in Naverstad parish with names that looked familiar – Johannes born 1829-07-03, father Anders Andersson, mother Kajsa Jonasdotter. I made a note for later use.

In mid December this year I opened the cold case again and this time I made progress. The name Johannes Andersson can be seen in the marriage record for Alfred Magnusson Högfäldt and Maria Kajsa Oldotter. In the 6th column from left are the fathers names, Erik Magnus Högfeldt and Pelle Ohlsson, in the 7th column are the witness of the engagement between the two, xxx Hindersson and Johannes Andersson. This together with the Norwegian census 1875 where Maria Kajsa is called Andersdotter and her sister Kristina Andersdotter lives in the same household unlocked the case and gave you another two generations back. You find the sources below.

The mother to Maria Kajsa was Kajsa Jonasdotter born 1800-04-15 I Tofta in Hogdal parish. The parents of Kajsa Jonasdotter was Jonas Eriksson and Maria Larsdotter. Kajsa Jonasdotter get married with Anders/Andreas Andersson at Måsekasen in Naverstad parish. Kajsa and Anders get the children Christian 1827, Johannes [the engagement witness] 1829, Anna Stina 1831, Kristina 1834. The father Anders Andersson died 1838-98-21, The widow Kajsa Jonasdotter give birth to Maria Kajsa 1843 with unknown father.

My conclusions concerning Maria Kajsa surname are that Olsdotter comes from her father Pelle Olsson and later changed to Andersson after her siblings and before emigration changed to Magnusson after her husband.. When looking in the Norweigan records the birth year for Maria Kajsa is messed up by the record keeper. In the marriage record she is born 1843. When her daughter Marie is born Maria Kajsa is 22 years old, i.e calculated born 1849 and in the 1875 census she is born 1851. Also her sister Kristina was getting younger and younger, 1834 in the birth record and 1847 in the 1875 census. Fantastic women getting younger and younger as time passes.
