Mayfield, a wid. and had only Patience, 8 Aug. 1706. THEOPHILUS,
Newtown, L. I. 1672, had prob. been sev. yrs. on the isl. perhaps as
early as 1663, gr.s. of Rev. George, as Riker thot. but wh.could be his
f. I have sought in vain for sev. yrs. m. Ann, d. of Ralph Hunt, had
Theophilus, b. 15 May 1673; William, 28 June 1676; and Philip, 27
Dec. 1678. Riker says he had two more ws. but he names no issue.
He was a very useful man; in 1676 chos. to one town office, and next
yr. town clk. to his d. 26 Jan. 1689. To me it once seemed highly
prob. that he was s. of Rev. George, the first, but Riker 105, suppos.
him gr. ch. of wh. tho. improb. is very great, yet greater do I reckon
the improb. of his being the s. For THEOPHILUS, s. of George the first,
by fam. tradit. of wh. I have transcript, and fell almost certain that it is
correct, m. 3 Nov. 1666, Bethia Bedell (or some other name exceeding.
hard to be made out from the fugitive memoranda of fam. tradit. in conjunct.
with the indistinct chirogr. of the old rec. that in this m. perhaps
gives the name Keedell), by wh. he had Bethia, b. 21 Dec. 1668. His
w. d. 15 Mar. foll.and he m. 21 Nov. 1677, Mary Bennett, had Samuel,
20 Feb. 1680; Benjamin, no date; Mary, 16 Sept. 1684, d. soon; Mary,
again, 15 nov. 1685; Theophilus, 24 June 1688; Jonathan, bapt. 13
July 1690; John, b. 10 Dec. 1692; Elizabeth no date; Lydia, 20 June
1695; Obadiah, 22 Feb. 1698; Joseph, 4 dec. 1702; and David, 15
Dec. 1707; and d. 1717. his wid. Mary liv. at Hopkinton, with her s.
theophilus, and d. 3 Dec. 1730. THOMAS, Pemaquid 1674, and per-=
haps his s. of the same name, there took o. of fidel. or one may have
been br. ano. s. of William. THOMAS, Boston, perhaps s. of Nicholas of
the same, by w. Hannah had Hannah, b. 7 Sept. 1690. TIMOTHY,
Charlestown, freem. 1690, was s. of Henry of Dedham, m. 18 Apr. 1681,
wid. Mary Smith, had Mary, bapt. 12 Oct. 1682; Timothy,b. 24 Dec.
1686, bapt. 22 Jan. foll.; Ann, 24 Mar. 1689; Sarah, 30 Aug. 1691;
John, 14 July 1694; and Mary; and he d. 7 May 1712. Perhaps he
liv. in boston, but had est. in C. giv. by his f.'s will. WALTER, Wiscasset
1661, b. it is said, a. 1619, was at Salem 1689, perhaps driv. from
the E. by the Ind. hostil. is call, sen. when made freem. 1690; resid. at
