and prob. some yrs. earlier, as he was among purch. 1637, in his will of
16 Apr. 1654, calls hims. "threescore yrs. and ten at the least," out of
his small est. gives w. Elizabeth and s. James, who was excor, but if he d.
without issue, then to childr. of his d. Elizabeth w. of James Walker. Bay-=

WILLIAM, Hartford 1639, perhaps earlier, but not an orig. propr. d. aft.
May 1653, leav. wid. Ann, but no ch. as is thot. for in her will of 31
Mar. 1668, pro. 6 Nov. 1669, she disposes of est. of wh. the val. was
L391, to her br. John Rogers, as well as br. Samuel Young, both in Eng.
L100 ea. to Mr. John Hooker (I suppose he was br. of Rev. Thomas),
liv. in Old Eng. L10 if he come to liv. in N. E. to Mr. Samuel Hooker
L10, and to his sis w. of Rev. John Wilson of Medfield, L10. Without
doubt she or her h. was relat. of famous Hooker. WILLIAM, Charlestown,
with w. Mary adm. of the ch. 23 Sept. 1639, freem. 13 May 1640,
had Phebe, b. 7 Apr. 1640; Nathaniel, 5 Feb. 1642; Mary, 17
Feb. 1644. His w. d. 1 May 1646, and he rem. to Boston, m.
Susanna, wid. of Christopher Stanley, and by her, wh. d. 16 June
1655, had there prob. William, Elizabeth and Sarah. On 10 Sept. 1650,
he had his w. made separ. wills, and hers was pro. 2 Aug. 1655,
in wh. reciting, that he had confirmed to her for sole dispos. what
was her h. Stanley's she gives to her d.-in-law, Mary field (by me conject.
to be w. of Robert, and d.of Stanley by a former w.), to d. Martha, or
mary Thurston, w. of Richard; d. Rebecca Lord, w. of Robert; to William,
Nathaniel, Elizabeth, Phebe, and Sarah Phillips, called her s. and ds.
tho. part were by the former w. and to Elizabeth w. of William Aspinwall,
prob. some relat. beside provid. if any childr. of her br. or sis. came over,

a third w. Bridget he had John, b. 18, bapt. 21 Sept. 1656, d. next Aug.;
Samuel, 16 Mar. 1658; and William again, 28 jan. bapt. 5 Feb. 1660.
He had large prop. in lands and mills at Saco, liv, there many yrs. was
made ana officer in the milit. and magistr. in 1663, confirm. in the same
buy royal commisnrs. 1665, a major in 1675, when he well defend. his
place against assault by Ind. wh. however burnt the ho. came back to
Boston to reside; made his will, 29 Sept. 1683, pro. 13 Nov. foll. recites,
that hav. portioned four ds. little est. but land was left, however, as w.
Bridget
had brot. him good est. that to William, her younger s. who had
been then four yrs. in captiv. with the Spaniards, and to her elder Samuel,
three fourths of the Saco lands and mills, were devis. his d. Elizabeth
m. 6 July, Abiel Everitt; and next, 1 Apr. 1660, John Alden; Phebe
had m. 26 July 1659, Zechariah Gillam. WILLIAM, Boston, a mariner,
