the youngest, b. 28 June 1655; was capt. some time in Philip's
war; d. 12 Sept. 1691. Perhaps he took sec. w. Sarah Hobart, m. at
Hingham, June 1668. EZRA, Plymouth 1643, able to bear arms.

    COWEN, ISRAEL, Scituate, s. of John, had Mary, b. 1691; Hannah,
1694; Elizabeth 1697; Israel, 1699; Jonah, 1704, d. young; Gethelus (?)
1708; Job, 1713; Joseph, 1715; and Sarah, 1717. JOHN, Scituate, a
Scotchman, purch. est. there and m. 1656, Rebecca, wid. of Richard
Man, had Joseph, b. 1657; Mary, 1659; John, 1662; Israel, 1664;
and Rebecca, 1666. Joseph was k. in Philip's war, at Rehoboth fight,
1676. Rebecca m. 19 Dec. 1693, Obadiah Hawes of Dorchester.
JOHN, Scituate, s. of the preced. m. 1687, Deborah Litchfield, had
Sarah, b. 1688; Joseph, 1690; John, 1692; Joshua, 1694; Caleb,

to Hatfield, d. Sept. 1677, leav. wid. Hannah, wh. d. at Hartford 1684;
and ch. Samuel, b. 1639 (of wh. r. under Cole); JOHN, 1641, of Hatfield,
freem. 1690, wh. m. 22 Nov. 1668, Deborah, d. of Robert Bartlett of Hartford;
Hannah, 1644, wh. m. Caleb Stanley, and d. 1689;[1] also he had four ds. Sarah,
bapt. 7 Feb. 1647, had m. Nathaniel Goodwin of Hartford, but d. 1676; Esther,
1649 m. Thomas Bull, and she d. at F. 1691; Mary 1654, wh. m. as Porter writes,
Nehemiah Dickinson; and Elizabeth wh. m. Richard Lyman. This person was thot. to
