16 Nov. 1699, Sarah, d. of Samuel Eddy, had Sarah, b. 8 Sept. 1700;
Tabitha, 2 Nov. 1702; and David, 25 Jan. 1705. The w. d. Nov.
1711, and he m. 15 Jan. 1713, Mary Smith of Boston; and d. 15 May
1737. Elizabeth wh. m. 17 June 1656, Gilbert Crackbone of Cambridge,
prob. his sec. w. was, perhaps, sis. of first John. Seven of this name,
all descend. it is thot. of John, had been gr. in 1834 at Harv. and three
at some of the other N. E. coll.

    COOLEY, sometimes COLEY, BENJAMIN, Springfield 1646, d. 17 Aug.
1681; by w. Sarah wh. d. 6 days after, had Bethia, b. 16 Jan. 1644;
Obadiah, 27 Jan. 1647; Eliakim, 8 Jan. 1649; Daniel, 2 May 1651;
Sarah, 27 Feb. 1654; Benjamin, 1 Sept. 1656; Mary, 22 June 1659;
and Joseph, 6 Mar. 1662; all liv. at his d. Bethia m. 15 Dec. 1664,
Henry Chapin. BENJAMIN, Springfield, s. of the preced. with his four
brs. took o. of alleg. on the last day of Dec. 1678, and he was freem.
1690. DANIEL, Springfield, s. of the first Benjamin, m. Elizabeth d. of the
first Simon Wolcott of Windsor, was freem. 1684. DENNIS, Stonington,
writ. Coolie, d. 1683. ELIAKIM, Springfield, s. of Benjamin, m. Hannah,
d. of Thomas Tibbals, was freem. 1690. HENRY, Boston 1670,
cooper, had w. Rebecca, wh. surv. He d. bef. Nov. 1677. JOHN, Ipswich
1638, rem. to Salem, d. Mar. 1654. JOSEPH, Springfield, youngest
s. of the first Benjamin, and freem. 1690. PETER, Fairfield, freem. of
Conn. 1664. WILLIAM, Mass. 1634. Felt. He was a mariner, of
New London, 1652, and call. hims. in 1664, a. 60. Eight of this name
had been gr. in 1834 at some of the N. E. coll.

    COOMBS, ALISTER, Maine 1665. FRANCIS, Middleborough 1676,
perhaps s. of John, had w. Mary. HENRY, Marblehead 1647, d. Sept.
1669, prob. as this is date of inv. He left. wid. and childr. whose names I
kn. not. HUMPHREY, Salem 1668, m. 29 July 1659, Bathshua, d. of Richard
Raymond
; had Hannah, b. 26 May 1660. JOHN, Plymouth 1630, m. that
yr. Sarah, d. of Cuthbert Cuthbertson, was tax. 1633 and 4. JOHN,
Boston, m. 24 Feb. 1662, Elizabeth wid. of Thomas Barlow, diminish. her
prop. but liv. not long. JOHN, Sherborn 1676. Bigelow, 38. THOMAS,
Maine 1665. Often this name appears Combs.

    COOPER, ANTHONY, Hingham 1635, came with w. four s. four ds.
and four serv. (any one of whose names I would gladly learn) from old
Hingham, d. very early, for his inv. was tak. 26 Feb. 1636. BENJAMIN,
Salem, was of Hampton in the E. part of Suffolk, came from Yarmouth,
in the Mary Ann, 1637, aged 50, with w. Elizabeth 48, and five ch. Lawrence,
Mercy, Rebecca, Benjamin, and Francis Fillingham, his s.-in-law,
aged 32, his sis. aged 48, and two serv. John Filin and Philemon Dickerson.
Of the f. or ch. we kn. no more, but the s.-in-law, and Dickerson
are ment. shortly after at Salem; he d. soon, and his inv. tak. 27 Sept.
