Obituary

W. CLAUDE WHITCOMB

 After several years' illness, William Claude Whitcomb passed away Thursday, March 11, at his home, 522 North Faucher street.
 Mr. Whitcomb was born October 13, 1879, at Echo, Indiana, and has resided in Mt. Pleasant for many years.  He was graduated from the Mt. Pleasant Normal in 1905 and was a rural mail carrier from the Mt. Pleasant post office for many years.
 Mr. Whitcomb was a member of the Masons, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Spanish-American War Veterans, and the Methodist church.
 He is survived by his wife, Margaret Elizabeth; one son, Charles of Mt. Pleasant; and three daughters, Mrs. Sharon Burnham, Mrs. J.H. Buzard, and Doris Ann Whitcomb of Mr. Pleasant; a brother, Earl of Spring Lake; and a sister, Mrs. William Leahy of Mt. Pleasant.
 Funeral services were conducted from the Whitcomb home, at 2:30 p.m. March 14.  The Rev. Harold B. Adams officiated, and Stinson and Sons were in charge of arrangements.  Burial was made in Riverside cemetery.
