Obituary MARGARET E. WHITCOMB Margaret Elizabeth Whitcomb, 102, of Mt. Pleasant died Saturday, March 5, 1994, at the Care More Adult Foster Care Home in Mt. Pleasant. Memorial services are pending with the Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Graveside services will be conducted at Riverside Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Gordon Weller of St. John's Episcopal Church officiating. At her request Mrs. Whitcomb was cremated at Sunset Valley Crematory, Bay City. Mrs. Whitcomb was born Nov. 4, 1891, in Belmont, N.Y. to Francis Norton and Mary (McManus) Whitcomb, who preceded her in death. She married William Claud Whitcomb in Belmont, N.Y. on June 26, 1912. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1943. A resident of Mr. Pleasant since 1921, Mrs. Whitcomb was the executive secretary for the Isabella County chapter of the American Red Cross for 15 years. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. She is survived by grandchildren Mary Jean McIntyre and her husband George of Tucson, Ariz., John Buzard and his wife Brenda of Tucson, Ariz., Jon Whitcomb and his wife Nancy of Phoenix, Ariz., William Whitcomb and his wife Jan of Fort Myers, Fla., Margaret Cox and her husband Gregory of Grand Rapids, Michael Burnham and his wife Kathryn of Grand Rapids, Patricia Page and her husband Thomas of Bloomfield Hills, Jane Brewer of Bloomfield Hills, William Lang of Mt. Pleasant, and Tony Whitcomb and his wife Angie of Lansing; a daughter-in-law Ruby Whitcomb of Bloomfield Hills; a nephew Andrew Anthony of Midland; a niece Wilma McKillip and her husband Don of Mt. Pleasant; 12 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Whitcomb and three daughters, Jean, Mary Ellen and Doris Ann.
