Cecelia ANDERSON (b. 1816, chr 1817 (IGI), d. 1865 Victoria, married William E. Timms, see BDM Pioneers Index) (angelfire site). William E. was probably William Fowler Timms (Cambridge alumni, Times obituary of son Harry). William Timms (1811 York-1858) married (1841 Geelong and Melbourne) Cecilia Anderson (1818 Fife-1865), daughter of Alexander and Cecilia; their children (William Fowler, Harry Alex, Anne Cecilia) were chr at Geelong Presbyterian Church (web). William Timms, esq., d. 8jan1858 aged 47 at his residence, Parkington St., Geelong (Melbourne Argus). William Fowler Timms was bur jan1858, aged 46 at Geelong (gct.net.au). W. Timms of firm Strachan and Co., Corio, married Cecilia, 3rd daughter of H. Anderson of Thorpe, Van Diemens Land, at Bunniyong, previous Wednesday (3apr1841). Cambridge alumni records of his sons refer to William Fowler Timms of Drumquhassie, Stirlingshire. In 1845 William Timms exported wool to UK (Geelong Advertiser); in 1847 William was a merchant at Corio (Directory) (web <http://vic1847.comlu.com/a/a06.html>). 5 children were b. (1830-1860) to William Timms and - Anderson at Victoria, Australia, including Harry Alexander Timms (bmd). Wills: Cecilia Timms, widow, d. 8sep1865, committed to W. F. Timms. William Timms, merchant, d. 8jan1858, committed to A. Anderson and Cecilia Timms. The will of William Timms, merchant, Geelong, refers to widow Cecilia Timms, brother George Fowler Timms, sister Anne Timms, wife of Joseph Timms, dau Flora Timms. Other beneficiaries were initially brother in law Henry Anderson of Tulchan, nr Geelong, though later instead of him, Alexander Anderson the younger of Bangal, Mount Emu Creek, Victoria (prov.vic site). Mrs. Timms, mother of W. Timms, esq., Geelong, d. 1847 on board ship from London (Melbourne Argus). George Fowler Timms married Amelia Hudson 1830 at Leicesters. (Latter day saints); George was maybe brother of William Timms. In 1878 land was valued in several parishes in Grenville County, including Hesse, owned by the following Timms’: John, Alexander, Robert Oliphant and William Fowler (Melbourne Argus). |
