John TIMMS (chr3feb1782 Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire, son of William, IGI) was son of William Timms and Frances Elliot (L. Lucas). John married (11mar1804 Ashby, IGI) Anne FOWLER (b. abt 1785) (L. Lucas). Mrs. Timms, mother of W. Timms, esq., Geelong, d. 1847 on board ship from London (Melbourne Argus). Some or all children of John Timms and Ann emigrated to Australia. Some relatives with the name Fowler Timms probably remained in England. In 1842 a servant of George Fowler Timms, Oakthorpe, was accused of stealing (Derby Mercury). In 1855 Mary Ann, eldest daughter of William Fowler Timms, married at Rolleston (Leicester Chronicle).
