William and Rose Snapp moved into their house in 1898. The house was originally put up by some Chicago men as a hunters club house and was called "Villa San Soucie". Supposedley it was a haunted house: a woman in white clothes would walk by the up-stairs bed room window. The whisky was probably much stronger in those days than the spirit. The ghost moved out when Grandpay and Grandma Snapp moved in.
