William Tapley Oller

William Tapley Oller was born on December 28, 1869 in Alexander County, Illinois.

William died January 30, 1950 in Alexander County.

William is buried in Mill Creek, Union County, Illinois at St. John's Cemetery. A memorial page with a photo of his headstone is found on the Find-A-Grave website.

AEH-BK-025 states he bought "the Opera House located on Commercial Ave. between 6th and 7th Streets [Cairo, IL]. The Opera House was a major entertainment center with people traveling from miles around to shows on the circuit from St. Louis to Memphis. The last remembrance of that grand building is the chandelier that hangs in the Cairo Public Library." A photograph of William T. Oller is found on page 237 of AEH-BK-025.
