William Edward Lies was baptised on 6th February 1829 at Evesham in Worcestershire, son of a shopkeeper named Ann Maria Lies, formerly Dingley, and her husband John Lies, a shoemaker. William's father died when he was about 10 years old. William appears in the 1841 census living with his mother and siblings on Bridge Street in Evesham.

William has yet to be researched after 1841.
