William Fernihough was baptised on 27th December 1726 at Flintham in Nottinghamshire, son of Elizabeth Fernihough, formerly Smith, and her husband John Fernihough, who was the vicar of Flintham and who was originally from Marton in Cheshire. William's paternal grandfather died at Marton in 1739, and William was named in his will, being left a coat, waistcoat and sword. William has yet to be traced after 1739.
