Gender Female
Marriage 27 Apr 1721 Flintham, Nottinghamshire, Englandto John Fernihough
Burial[1] 23 Feb 1754 Flintham, Nottinghamshire, England

Elizabeth Smith's origins have yet to be established. Her first confirmed sighting is on 27th April 1721, when she married a priest called John Fernihough at Flintham in Nottinghamshire. He had been appointed vicar of Flintham in 1714. There were a few families of yeomen farmers called Smith in Flintham at the time, and it is possible that Elizabeth was from one of those families.

Elizabeth and John went on to have seven children baptised at Flintham between 1722 and 1738, although their first child died as a baby.

John died in 1743, aged 55.

Elizabeth's eldest son married in 1746, and her first known grandchild was baptised in 1748.

Elizabeth was buried at Flintham on 23rd February 1754, having survived John by almost eleven years.
