VETERAN SANTA FE SWITCHMAN PASSES

     Fred Dick Died of Heart Attack at His Home Today Noon
  A heart attack about noon today proved fatal to Fred Dick, old-time resident of Newton and veteran 

Santa Fe switchman. Mr. Dick had been at work this morning and returned home shortly before noon. He sat down in a front porch swing and succumbed a short time later, a neighbor discovering his body. Dr. M. C. Martin, county coroner, was called and pronounced it an apparent case of heart trouble.

  Mr. Dick resided at 609 East Second street.  His wife died about 15 years ago.  Three sons survive, 

they being Max, employed by the city; Carroll, employee of Dillon’s grocery, and Merwin.

  Mr. Dick was removed to Duff and Don Mortuary and funeral arrangements will be announced 

tomorrow.

Funeral of W. F. Dick

  Funeral services for William Fred Dick will be held from the duff and Son mortuary at five-thirty 

Wednesday afternoon. In the absence of the Rev. Fred Smith of the Congregational church, Rev. R. R. Schreiber, pastor of the Evangelical church, will be in charge.

  Burial will be in the family lot in Greenwood cemetery.  Friends may see Mr. Dick at the Duff parlors 

anytime tomorrow.

  A son, Merwin of Chicago, and a sister, Mrs. Milton Blanchard of Los Angeles, will arrive tomorrow to 

attend the funeral. Mr. Dick died suddenly Monday noon of a heart attack, shortly after returning home from work.
