Taken from The Newton Evening Kansan-Republican, Newton, Kansas, Tuesday, March 9, 1920, p. 5 (typed as printed) Mrs. Fred Dick The many friends of Mrs. Fred Dick were quite shocked this morning to hear of her death which had occurred at 4:30. She had apparently been in good health since recovering from the influenza about six weeks ago, but at noon Monday she was suddenly stricken by apoplexy and was taken to Axtell hospital, expiring this morning. Mrs. Dick had resided in Newton since her girlfriend days, and her friendship is treasured by many. In the family home are the husband and three sons, Max, Mervin and Carroll. A brother, Will Miller resides in Newton and two brothers George and Harry at Detroit and Romero, Mich. Her mother passed away a year ago in May and her father’s death occurred fourteen years ago. Funeral arrangements will be announced tomorrow. Taken from The Newton Evening Kansan-Republican, Newton, Kansas, Wed.
