WILLIAM CHARLES BUHRMANN probably came to America about the same time as the other Buhrman family and settled first in Illinois. It is assumed that he married after he moved to Lawrence County, Missouri.

William married PHEONIA GODDEN.

The 1880 census shows William living with his family in Vineyard Township, Lawrence County, Missouri.

William and Sophroma lived in Stotts City, Missouri in the 1890's and early 1900's, during the mining boom. Sophroma boarded men that worked in the mines. Some of the miners not pay for their room and board, therefore they did not receive much money. It became a financial burden to the family. The family moved to Kansas about 1901. Their family thought they left Stotts City one day at sun down and didn't tell any one they were moving. They settled southwest of Wichita, Kansas near Harper and raised wheat on a rented farm.

William died in Kansas.
