Obituary from The Arizona Daily Star (Tucson, AZ), Oct 27, 1998 IRWIN, Willard Hurshel, 84, of Tucson, died October 23, 1998. He was born April 9, 1914, in Sullivan County, NY, son of the late Hurshel and Lulu (Newman) Irwin. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ruby K. (Spratt) Irwin; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Irwin was a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Army and served on Corregidor, Korea and at the SHAPE Headquarters in Paris. He was a member of the National POW Association, American ex-POWs of Arizona and Casas Adobes Congregational Church. Memorial Service, Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., Casas Adobes Congregational Church, 6801 N. Oracle Rd. with Rev. Dr. David W. Smith officiating. Private interment will be in EVERGREEN CEMETERY. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY.
