LYNFORD IRWIN Lynford Arthur Irwin, 80, of Catskill, Greene County, died Tuesday in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Hospital, Albany. He was born in Neversink, Sullivan County, and moved to Catskill after retiring. Mr. Irwin was an Army veteran of World War II, during which he served in Europe. His service included the Battle of the Bulge. He was discharged in 1945. He was employed for many years as a truck driver for United Steel and Aluminum Corp. in Albany, retiring 14 years ago. Survivors include his wife, Emma Bink Irwin; two daughters, Emma Irwin of Catskill and Louise Staples of Albany; a son, Lynford A. Irwin Jr. of Catskill; a brother, William Irwin of Tucson, Ariz.; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Remembrance Chapel of the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, 139 Jefferson Heights, Catskill. Burial will follow in Catskill Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
