Walter George Savage was baptised on 24th September 1893 at All Saints Tufnell Park in Islington, in the northern suburbs of London. He was the first child of Rosa Savage, formerly Godsmark, and her husband Walter Edmund Savage, a packer. At the time of young Walter's baptism the family was living at 9 Wedmore Street. By 1901 the family had moved to 24 Hartham Road in Tottenham, where they occupied three rooms.

Sadly Walter George died early in 1904, when he was only ten years old.
