From Ye Horseford Booke Timothy bought land in the "northern township" in 1740 and moved with his half-brother Daniel in 1741 to South Canaan, Conn. He is named at Cornwall in 1742 and at Norwich in 1748. From the Cooley Genealogy Timothy Hosford, II4, the youngest child of Timothy and Abigail (Buckland), was b. Sept. 3, 1709, Litchfield, and d. Apr. 8, 1787, South Canaan, Conn. He m. before 1744 Ann Smithrem or Smithram, da. Widow Esther; she was sometimes called Nancy. Timothy Hosford bought land in the "northern township" in 1740, removing to South Canaan with his half-brother Daniel Hosford4 in 1741. He was in Cornwall, Conn, in 1742, Norwich in 1748; he was living in Cannan in 1744, when Esther Smithrem of Albany, widow, under date of Aug. 27, 1744, left one half of her estate to her daughter, "Anne, wife of Timothy Hosford of Canaan." This will was proved at Albany Aug. 5, 1751, and Timothy Hosford was one of the executors. Ann Hosford5, b.
