Later the wife of Timothy is called Nancy. It has been thought that Timothy married twice, first, Anne Smithrem and second, Nancy... but it seems possible that "Nancy" was a nickname for Anne.

Information regarding the wife or wives of Timothy is meagre. Esther Smithrem of Albany, N.Y., widow, under date of Aug. 27, 1744, left an estate, one-half to daughter Anne, wife of Timothy Hosford of Canaan. Timothy Hosford of Canaan was one of the executors. The will was proved at Albany Aug. 5, 1751. There was also a bequest to "cousin Elizabeth [Brown] wife of Abraham Hallenbeck."

A Canaan land record states that Smithrem (or Smithran) Hosford bought land on Apr. 7, 1774 which Esther Robbins bought of Timothy Hosford. Smithrem Hosford's estate was settled June 27, 1797. He left his property to his sisters and brother.
