    T.A. Wren, 81, long-time Greenville resident and retired grocer clerk, died at 2:50 o'clock Friday afternoon at his family home, 3215 Cornelia street. He had been in ill health for several years and had been seriously ill for about 10 days.

    Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Kavanaugh Methodist Church, with Rev. Harrison Baker, District Superintendent Methodist Churches, officiating, assisted by Rev. J.B. Davidson, pastor of Park Street Baptist Church. Interment will be in East Mount cemetery.

    Pallbearers will be: Luke Whitton, L.M. Wacasey, C.E. Arant, Jr., R.L. English, J.M. English and Kirk Pierce.

    Mr. Wren was born on March 10, 1863 at Rutherford, Tenn. He came to Texas in 1894 and located in Greenville where he had since made his home. He became identified with the grocery business shortly after moving to this city and for 27 years was employed by the Moore and Jones Grocery store. He later served several years as caretaker of the Central Christian Church, retiring a few years ago on account of failing health.

    In early manhood, he professed Christianity and united with the Methodist church in Tennessee and for a number of years had been a member of Kavanaugh Methodist Church here.

    He was married to Miss Wilma McMillan in 1901 and to this union, five children were born.

    He is survived by his widow and four children: W. Andrew Wren, Petty Officer, First Class, USN, New Orleans, La; Pfc David E. Wren, U.S. Army Air Corps stationed in England; Mrs. Edgar S. Holland, Houston; and Mrs. W.B. Smith, Galena Park; six grandchildren, Betty Lois Wren, Lindsey and Billy Smith, Norma Louise Holland, Carolyn and David Wren, Jr.; one brother, J.I. Wren, Dallas; one sister, Mrs. Dora Pope, Dallas; one nephew, J.W. Pope, Chester, Texas; and one niece, Mrs. W.W. Gaines, Del Rio. One son, J. Lindsey Wren, preceded him in death.
