    Mrs. John R. Dumas, 74, of Rockwall, a sister of T.A. Wren, 3215 Cornelia street, and a former resident of this city, died suddenly at her home at 8 o'clock Sunday evening June 13, following a heart attack.

    No funeral arrangements had been completed this afternoon pending the arrival of relatives, but it is believed that burial will take place here.

    Born in Rutherford, Tenn., April 1869, she resided in that state for a number of years. Her first husband was Dr. Steve Medlin and to this union was born one child. They made this city their home forabout fifteen years.

    In 1909 she was married to Jno. R. Dumas of Rockwall where she had since resided and was one of the outstanding civic and church workers in that city.

    Surviving are her husband Jno. R. Dumas; a daughter, Mrs. W.W. Gaines of Del Rio, a granddaughter, Mrs. John Howard Black and a great grandson, John Howard Black, 3rd of Hondo; two brothers John Wrenof Dallas and T.A. Wren of Greenville, and a sister, Mrs. Dora Pope of Rockwall.

    Mrs. John R. Dumas, 74, former Greenville resident and sister of T.A. Wren, 3215 Cornelia street, died suddenly at 8 o'clock Sunday evening at her home Rockwall, following a heart attack.

    Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock this morning at Rockwall, with burial following in East Mount cemetery in this city about 12 o'clock.

    Mrs. Dumas was born April, 1869 in Rutherford, Tenn. She was married to Dr. Steve Medlin and to this union one child was born. They made their home in this city for about 15 years and he preceded herin death.

    She was married to John R. Dumas, of Rockwall in 1909 and had since made her home in that city, where she was a prominent church and civic leader.

    She is survived by her husband, John R. Dumas, a daughter, Mrs. W.W. Gaines of Del Rio; a granddaughter, Mrs. John Howard Black and a great grandson, John Howard Black, III, of Hondo; two brothers, John Wren, of Dallas; and T.A. Wren, Greenville; and a sister, Mrs. Dora Pope, Rockwall."
