    HOUSTON – Mildred E. Smith, 93, died Sept. 18, 2003. Funeral services were at 2:30 p. m. Monday at Galena Park United Methodist Church with Rev. Pat Smith and Rev. Lindsey T. Smith Jr. officiating. Burial was in San Jacinto Memorial Park.

    She was born Feb. 10, 1910, in Greenville and was a resident of Galena Park for 69 years. Mrs. Smith retired from the Galena Park School System in 1975 as cafeteria manager. She was active in The Women Society of Christian Service, which later became United Methodist Women, for more than 60 years.

    Survivors are two sons, Lindsey T. Smith and wife Ethel of Galena Park and William B. "Bill" Smith and wife Hallie of Baytown; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two grand/great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and three great-grand/great-great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley B. Smith, and granddaughter, Roberta Lynn Smith.

    Grandchildren served as pallbearers.

    Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home & Cemetery of Houston was in charge of arrangements."
