Thomas Wiswall (1601–1683) was an early settler of British America, a prominent early citizen of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, and a key figure in the founding of Cambridge Village, now known as the city of Newton, Massachusetts.

    "'Note: Mrs. Isabella Wiswall, above mentioned, was wife of John Farmer, of Ansley, in the county of Warwickshire, and came to this country with some of her children, after his death, which occurred prior to 1669. It appears from original papers, that she was sister to Rev. Thomas Muston, of Wykin, and afterwards, of Brinklow, in England. She m. Mr. Thomas Wiswall, whence she acquired the name.' Mr. Wiswall was ordained ruling elder, with John Eliot, jun., teacher of the church in Newton, at its organization, 1664, July 20; d 1683, Dec. 6."
