Facts and Events
[edit] Personal HistoryThomas Overton, parish clerk, died about the age of 56 and was buried on 5 February 1756 in the parish of Bardney, Lincolnshire, England.[1] The first mention of Thomas's occupation was in the baptism record of his daughter Sarah in 1746 in which he was said to be schoolmaster and parish clerk.[2] [edit] Marriage and Family
Thomas Overton and Elizabeth Smith were married on 23 November 1732 in the parish of Stenigot, Lincolnshire, England. It is not known without a doubt that this couple is the same Thomas and Elizabeth whose children were baptized in the parish of Bardney beginning in 1741, but this couple disappear from the Stenigot registers after the baptism of their first son in 1735. A search of marriage records has not yielded anything more likely for the Bardney couple than this marriage in Stenigot. References
