Thomas Hall was born in Harrison county, West Virginia, March 1, 1820. When yet an infant his parents moved to Kentucky, and when he was 13 years old they moved to Rush county, Indiana. For some years he was a very successful farmer in this county. At a later date he moved to near Red Key, Ind., and on February 10, 1856, he was married to Emily Sutton. To this union were born five children, three sons and two daughters, all of whom are yet living. About fifteen years ago he moved to Dublin; all of his children at this time being married. Mr. Hall has been an honorable and most worthy citizen, honest in all his dealings, doing unto others as he would have them do to him. For the last five or six years the infirmities of life became more evident from year to year. On Monday of last week he became worse and the end was daily expected. His children were summoned and were all here when, on Monday, December 7, about 9 o'clock a.m., he peacefully passed away. Funeral services were held at the residence on Wednesday at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. J.W. Walters of the M.E. church, to which church he belonged.
