Research Notes on the children of James Hall and Mary Johnson
According to a Family Bible Record, 3 James and Mary Hall had 9 children. Those listed above in blue have been confirmed as follows:
- Thomas Hall - Parents sourced on his death record.
- John A. Hall - Sourced as a brother to Thomas and Amos in a biographical sketch of his nephew.1
- Amos Hall - Parents sourced on his death record and mentioned in bio sketch.1
- William Hall - Mentioned in Family Bible Record3. No additional evidence found.
which leaves at least 5 unidentified children...
Possible additional relations
- Robert Hall, b. abt 1836 in Indiana. Robert appears in the 1850 census, living with son Thomas Hall and his family. He does not appear in any of the above brother's households after 1850 and he was not mentioned as a brother in the biographical sketch of Geo W. Hall which named the other brothers. His relationship is unknown. There are several Decatur county marriage records which may be a match to him. See his person page for more info.
- Note: If James Hall died in 1832, this Robert (b 1836) could not have been his child. So - who is he and what is his connection? Is he a cousin? More research needed.
