Notes

  • not 100% sure she is a d/o Thomas Hall, but there is enough circumstantial evidence to suggest that she is
  • it appears that her mother Rebecca died when Margaret was young so Margaret was either working for or being raised by the Vandosens when she was 12 years old
  • she married Henry Campbell in Sep 1858 in LaPorte, IN which is unusual, since they were both from Decatur, but Henry had a son James born in LaPorte in May 1858, so either he had a first wife who died before Sep or Margaret may have given birth before they were married

    Mrs. H. H. Campbell.

Margaret Jane, wife of Henry H. Campbell, died at her home near Tyner, Ind., Monday, August 4, 1902, aged 64 years, 1 month and 20 days.

Margaret Jane Hall was born in Decatur county, Ind., married Henry H. Campbell and came with him from Laporte county to Polk township, Marshall county, settled on a farm and for over thirty-six years that place had been their home. There five sons and four daughters who are now living grew to manhood and womanhood. Two children are dead making a family of eleven children.

Mrs. Campbell was an excellent woman in every respect and will be missed by a large circle of acquaintances as well as by her husband and children. Her death came after an illness of eight months culminating in heart failure.

The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, services conducted by Rev. Mr. Luke of the Tyner U B. church of which deceased had long been a consistent member.
