Thomas FENIMORE served in the military in 1779 in Burlington Co. New Jersey. Promoted on 6 Jun 1777 to First Major in the Second Regiment of the Burlington County, New Jersey Milita until his resignation in 1782 in the New Jersey Regiments of the Revolutionary War. He died in Feb 1812 in Springfield Township, Burlington, New Jersey. He was born in Springfield Township, Burlington, New Jersey. Death was around DEC. 1811 to March 1812. Dates for his will and inventory of his estate. Thomas was in the Revolutionary War and was an Army First Major in the War and also was one of the first three to represent Burlington Co. NJ in 1776 when the New Jersey assembly was created. The assembly ousted the last Royal Governor named William Franklin. (William Franklin was Loyalist son of the American founding father Benjamin Franklin. After Benjamin returned to America from his tour as Ambassador to France he tried to rekindle his relationship with William but the two could not reconcile their differences with each other on the role of American Independance and remained distant until death.) Parents: John FENIMORE and Sarah BRIAN. He was married to Mary HARKER on 2 Jul 1750 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Marriage was in the German Reformed Church.
