John FENIMORE served in the military in 1793 in Springfield Township, Burlington, New Jersey. John served as a Sergeant during a march to Washington County, Pennsylvania in 1794 in a company led by a Captain Albermarle Collins during the Pennsylvania Insurrection (Whiskey Insurrection). John was in the 1st Regiment Infantry. He enlisted on the 6th of September in 1794 for a period of 3 months. When the 1st Regiment was discharged on the 24th of December in 1794 John was promoted to Sergeant Major. He died in 1829. Parents: Thomas FENIMORE and Mary HARKER. Children were: Mary Ann FENIMORE, James FENIMORE, Richard FENIMORE, Alexander FENIMORE, Joseph Harker FENIMORE, Daniel FENIMORE.
