[idahojo.ged] Thomas Clayton died leaving a will dated Sep 10, 1630 which was proved 28 Apr 1631 according to Consistory Court of Chichester Records. He was buried in the churchyard at Rudgwick (sometimes called Rumbaldswi ck or Rumbolds Wyke) His will names his wife as Elizabeth who was co-executor with son Walter, probably the eldest son. William, possibly the second son, was name with Thomas Penfold to assist Elizabeth and Walter in their duties. dates of children's births is approximate as order is uncertain. Time line: In 1565, only four or five years after the birth of Thomas Clayton, the first permanent European colony, within the present US boundarie s, was established by Spain, in St. Augustine, FL.
