    It was said that he was the most handsome young man in Ross County,
    Ohio. He served in the War of 1812 and rose to the rank of Lieutenant.
    Upon his return home he was one day riding his horse when it became
    frightened and threw him off onto a stump, crushing his head. He died at
    the age of 23.
